No Computer software has been developed to equal the quality of what a proffessional artist can render. Lets just face it. No click of a mouse has yet ever been able to match the detail of a great artist and his pencil. When I interview the witness I make a rough sketch on what the witness describes. Before the sketch is complete we make every little change the witness desires. Majority of my rough sketches are right on with the victims description. Usually all I have to do next is shade and its done! There are many types of software available to develope a computer composite but your ability to fine detail important features like slant the eyes or widden the base of the nose is terribly limited thus only giving you maybe a likeness. For examples of what I mean please refer to my sample page where half the samples are mere rough sketches which was enough to identify a suspect.
